Thank you to all the photographers that shared their best nature photos in this photo contest in collaboration with NANPA. The tenth anniversary of Nature Photography Day was observed nationally on Monday, June 15. This day was designated by NANPA to promote the enjoyment of nature photography, and to explain how images have been used to advance the cause of conservation and protect plants, wildlife, and landscapes locally and worldwide.
NANPA promotes the art and science of nature photography as a medium of communication, nature appreciation, and environmental protection. NANPA provides information, education, inspiration and opportunity for all persons interested in nature photography. NANPA fosters excellence and ethical conduct in all aspects of our endeavors and encourages responsible photography in the wild.
A special thanks to friend and professional photographer Sean Fitzgerald for his collaboration as a guest judge. Sean is a widely published nature and environmental photographer whose fine-art prints are found in collections and installations across the country. He has won numerous regional and national photo contests, featured in a cover story for Professional Photographer magazine and CBS News recently named Sean one of the 10 emerging artists in the Dallas area. Sean has been a NANPA member since 1999 and is the incoming NANPA President
